You'll find all sorts of goodies at Jane's website, sheeba.ca (the "log cabin" is her store. JaneSiberry.com is her archive of older stuff, issalight.com is her recent stuff following her change of name to Issa).
Jane's been making records since about 1980. You can put her career into, oh, five chunks. During the eighties, it was folky and poppy, sometimes with a whiff of the country, often experimental. Hockey comes from the end of that period. During the early nineties, she moved more into darker, jazz material. In '96 she released Teenager, a collection of her earliest songs and recordings, then changed direction again, exploring and reinterpreting traditional songs and spirituals, christmas tunes and children's songs. It all came together in a set of three concerts performed in New York City (the New York Trilogy). As Issa... I'm not sure. I think Issa is trying to find a new direction... :-)
While I like all her work, it's the stuff from the eighties I keep coming back to. There are two compilation albums from that time: A Collection 1984-89 and Summer in the Yukon.
Her shop is interesting: very trusting. You can try before you buy, decide how much to pay, and even nominate tracks as "gifts from the artist". It's a lovely idea, and seems to work well. Or Amazon has most of her CDs.
It's Jane's albums from the eighties that I tend to be drawn to, for some reason. Quirkier, perhaps, or less polished. I wouldn't part with any of them, though.
